Description of Significance THE EDWARDS STORE WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1858 AND BECAME AN UNOFFICIAL STOP ON THE BUTTERFIELD OVERLAND MAIL ROUTE. THE STORE SERVED MEALS AND OFFERED A PLACE TO SAFELY REST HORSES. THE STORE ITSELF BEGAN AS A SIMPLE DOGTROT LOG CABIN, BUT HAS GROWN IN SIZE OVER TIME DUE TO MULTIPLE ADDITIONS. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 4/13/1972.
